PMONet-IT Network infrastructure signing ceremony

The Government Printing Department, Prime Minister's Office and EcoPrime Networks Sdn Bhd held a signing ceremony yesterday at the Cesar Grand Hall in Orchid Garden Hotel, Berakas.

Present as the guest of honour and to witness the signing was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Awang Haji Ahmad bin Haji Abdul Rahman.

The agreement is for the supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of the PMONet-IT Network infrastructure, RTB reported.

Signing on behalf of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was the Director of Government Printing Department Awang Haji Mohiddin bin Haji Daud, while EcoPrime Networks Sdn Bhd was represented by its President Pengiran Haji Mohd Suhaimi bin Pengiran Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin.

The role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is taking precedent in today's governing and administrative organisations, whereby work process and administrating can be speeded through such technology. ICT also can aid in making decisions and analysis through such information which are easily accessible.

According to Awang Haji Mohidin bin Haji Daud, extra effort and initiative in daily updating and enhancing the usage of ICT that serve service effectiveness and productivity are the main goal in realising the country's vision and mission.

The agreement-project PMONet-IT Network infrastructure is worth more than one million dollars, and EcoPrime Networks is given a period of six months to run the project.
