Through relevant agencies, provide national leadership and  innovation in IT and manage the strategic use of IT in the country.

To coordinate and examine the IT needs of the public sector and provide relevant guidance to the private sector.

To enhance the level of IT literacy among all members of Brunei Darussalam’s society.

To ensure a continuing level of the supply of needed IT experts and other personnel in the country.

To promote effective application of IT, facilitate best practices in the Public Sector and reduce the cost of doing business with the Government.

To scan strategic and leading edge information technologies and to promote their effective diffusion in Brunei Darussalam through Research and Development and dissemination.

To establish and facilitate, where necessary with other agencies, the development and maintenance of information infrastructure with IT links to regional and global infrastructure.

To establish where appropriate interactive on-line information and services to all members of the society including the use of multimedia and multi-networking in government, education, health, finance, business, trade and other primary and secondary sectors of the economy.

To promote the establishment and growth of IT linked businesses and services.

Through the relevant agencies, formulate where appropriate the policies and establishment the framework, measures and activities to promote the strategic development and use of IT in line with the national values and interests of Brunei Darussalam to deal with relevant domestic, regional and global agenda.
